Friday 17th
POETRY READING 7.30pm
Poetry reading and prize giving evening at the King's Arms Hotel. £4.00 entry Prizes for this year's competition winners.

Saturday 18th
ART EXHIBITION OPENS 10.00am
Art Exhibition in St Mary's Arts Centre opens.
An opportunity to preview the exhibits on display and for sale. 6.00pm official opening reception, The Mayor of Sandwich will declare the exhibition open.
A free glass of wine for all. Thomas Abrahams plays guitar.

The exhibition will be open daily, 10.00am to 5.00pm, free to enter.
Demonstrations of stone sculpture; medieval art and craft techniques will take place intermittently during the week.

Sunday 19th
WORKSHOPS 11.00am St Mary's Arts centre
Felt craft workshop led by Josie Chisholm.
1.30pm cartoon drawing workshop led by Dave Chisholm. St Mary's Arts centre. Adults £5 children £2.50. No booking required.

LITERARY TALK 3.00pm Guildhall Jury Room - Literary Talk by Stephen Bates, ex Guardian journalist and author of 'Royalty inc': "Kings, Queens, Archbishops and a Poisoner: Life as a Roving Reporter" Guildhall Jury Room, free to enter, free glass of wine with a retiring collection.

Monday 20th
ILLUSTRATED LECTURE 7.30pm Guildhall Jury Room.
The Arts Society of Sandwich illustrated lecture: Barry Venning - 'Giles, his Life, Times and Cartoons'.
Barry Venning is an art historian, author and lecturer with the Open University. £8.00 on the door, includes a glass of wine. Guildhall Jury Room.

Tuesday 21st
CINEMA EVENING 7.00pm Empire Cinema, 1966 Film 'Blow Up'
starring David Hemmings and Vanessa Redgrave. £8.00 including light buffet. Tickets available by email or from the Sandwich Shop, Guildhall Forecourt or on the door, numbers permitting.
Advance booking recommended. Bar available.
Blow Up won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

Wednesday 22nd
POETRY READING AND WORKSHOP 2.30pm The Kings Arms Hotel.
Sandwich Library Guild poets read their poems in St Mary's Church. Free to enter. 7.00 pm Poetry writing workshop: 'Fascination Street' with Gary Michael Studley £10.00 Kings Arms.

LIVE PERFORMANCE 'EXPLORING GORBODUC' 7.00pm St Mary's Arts Centre, live performance by Reshake Theatre. Gorboduc is recognised as the very first true history play written and performed in England. Free to enter with a retiring collection.

Thursday 23rd
PIANO RECITAL 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm Piano Recitals by Julian Stowell in his home,

The programme will include popular pieces by Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Chopin. Retiring collection.

CINEMA EVENING 7.00pm Empire Cinema. Caravaggio is a 1986 British historical drama directed by Derek Jarman.
The film is a fictionalised re-telling of the life of the Baroque painter Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio.
